Following routines…

As you may or may not have been able to tell by now, I’m just posting blog entries Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays now since my internet access is limited at home and stuff… so… yeah… I just thought these would make good days to update because my favorite online comics update the same days. =P If you don’t already, you should definitely know about ctrlaltdel-online.com and TheVivArt.com.

So, while I’m on the topic of future colleges/majors/careers, my SAT Writing Prep teacher gave us a homework assignment to go to MyMajors.com and to do the whole thing that tells us what majors we should consider for the future. I know our school already did the whole Naviance Family Connection thing, but we had to do the MyMajors thing anyways. I also had to print out the report for my Naviance personality type thing… Basically, my homework assignment was to help kill a few trees. So, yeah. For this MyMajors thing, I had to select a couple of fields/majors in which I was interested in… Supposedly, the whole exam is supposed to take 16-18 minutes. It took me about an hour because I was only allowed to select five majors that interest me. Geez. So gay. But I think I settled with some combination of Art, Creative Writing, English, Architecture, Computer Graphics, and something else having to do with artistic advertising or something… I don’t remember exactly which ones I picked because my memory’s terrible… But, yeah. Too many damn fields. I was also somewhat interested in psychology, journalism, and real estate or something, but I didn’t end up picking those. I only considered real estate because it supposedly earns good money and it seems like something that allows for a flexible work schedule so that I can do creative stuff in my free time. Yeah. I don’t know. It looks like I’m going to be poor and starving though. (Maybe not with the help of this, though: Queercents Entry.) The things MyMajors eventually ended up suggesting for me were Art, Creative Writing, English, Journalism, and Film, Cinema & Video. I don’t know where the Film, Cinema & Video comes from. lol. We also talked about Destiny Numbers or something and the personality type in the SAT Writing Prep class I’m in… Apparently, my Destiny Number’s 8, which supposedly means that I’m going to be one of the richest men alive by the time I reach age 45 or something like that. Whoa. That just made my head spin. But then, the teacher also told me that INFP people (Introvert, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving), which includes me, usually turn out to be or make good writers. So, so far, this future stuff about what I’m going to become has only been good news to me. Yeah. I’m kind of questioning the accuracy of these things.

Well, my head’s still spinning, so I’m starting to think it might be the heat or all these bug bites I’ve been getting. I have about eight bites on each arm. =/ So damn itchy. But, yeah. I went tree climbing on Monday. I was supposed to take pictures of stuff around my neighborhood (or so I thought the directions were), so I went to the pool + tennis court + playground area… After I was done with the pictures, I just decided to climb trees. Turns out the trees in that area are awesome for climbing. It was so fun. =D But, yeah. I was thinking how cool it was in the trees and I didn’t want to go back home just yet, so yeah. I started musing about things… at least until I ran out of things to muse about quickly after. I still had a digital camera with me, so I decided to just fool around with it and take random pictures of leaves and branches and stuff. Some of the outcomes were pretty interesting, but others were just redundant and dumb… lol. I found this tree, though, and it looked really good for climbing, so I went up. It was pretty freaky when I got up. lol. There were a lot of hollowed out parts in the tree. I actually got scared for a while. lol. But, yeah. I got over it. I found this one branch on the tree that looked oddly resemblant to some sort of humanoid. Really. It looks kind of like someone spreading his or her wings and preparing for flight. Yeah… so I snapped a few pictures of that. I then got down to get another angle of the same branch, but I was surprised to find that it then looked like someone in extreme agony. It was… astonishing. I don’t know. I walked around and climbed up and down the tree to see if I could find any other oddities. Surely enough, I did. If you stretch your imagination far enough, there was this other branch that looked like someone walking or even dancing… Well, actually, there was another branch behind the branch that added more human qualities, but yeah. When I walked under it and to the other side, it actually looked like it had a face. o.o Creepy. Anyways. There were also these parts of the branches where it seems that the actual branch outgrew the bark so that what lay underneath looked like bones. There was also this other branch that looked like it had several eyes. That was one freak-tastic tree.

But, yeah. After I was quite confident that I had gotten every angle of the tree that I possibly could have, I decided to continue climbing farther out on branches. (You thought a new paragraph would signify a new topic, didn’t you? lol. You bastard. Don’t worry. I’m going somewhere with all this. Bear with me.) Yeah, so once I got to the end of the flying/agonized branch, I heard the most beautiful sound that has ever reached my ears since… since a long time ago. So, yeah. I was inspired. I changed the situation a bit. I actually didn’t refer to this whole tree thing at all… lol. Actually, I think this poem kind of sucks, but whatever. It’s freestyle, so don’t expect too much.

Your Touch

I’ve seen the sun
rising on the oceanic horizon,
I’ve heard the trees
bristling in the light breeze,
and I’ve smelled the dew
resting on the fresh grass…

I’ve seen that which
is more enticing
than your widened eyes,
I’ve heard that which
is more alluring
than your gentle laughter,
and I’ve smelled that which
is more tempting
than your light aura…

But I have yet to
feel
that which is more
enchanting
than your soft grasp,
your gentle clinch.

Nature,
she doesn’t stand a chance.

Yeah. I still have about… 13 other poems that I can share if I want to. But this poem has more to do with the whole boring tree thing, so yeah. Why not post it? =P

Alright. I’m done rambling. You’ve undergone enough pain and suffering for now. =)

Oh, and of course, here are some of the photos I took:

  1. Arnold:

If the point of your blog is rambling+POETRY, consider looking for some poetry forum and advertise your blog URL there :O
It might stir up more traffic

  2. Thanks for your suggestion, Greg. I’ve actually thought of that before, but… I guess I just got lazy and forgot. =/ Thanks for reading, though. =P
